In order to practice effective coastal zone management training and to improve the understanding of different interests of coastal users, the students and post-graduates of the Faculty of Oceanography of RSHU have been involved in research projects concerning the assessment of the changing environmental state in the White Sea–Barents Sea by: 3. The policy is accompanied by the delineation of the Coastal Zone Area. This is the area which the Integrated Coastal Zone Management Policy will govern. The delineation was guided by numerous coastal surveys and available data on flooding, storm surges, sea level rise and the location of important zones and infrastructure.

Background: the role of education and training for the implementation of Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) in Europe. Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) is nowadays considered as the most appropriate tool to achieve sustainable coastal development by many EU coastal related policies, – such as the Future Maritime Policy 1 and its environmental pillar, the Marine Strategy Cited by: 9.

learn the need for an integrated approach of problems in the coastal zone and become familiar with the multidisciplinary aspects of ICZM which is vital for sustainable development. Tailor-made training Tailor-made training caters directly to the needs of each client.
Integrated coastal zone management (ICZM) or Integrated coastal management (ICM) is a process for the management of the coast using an integrated approach, regarding all aspects of the coastal zone, including geographical and political boundaries, in an attempt to achieve sustainability.
This concept was born in during the Earth Summit of Rio de Janeiro. Suggested Citation:"3 INTEGRATED COASTAL MANAGEMENT."National Research Council. Prerequisites: The course is designed for professionals from coastal/hydraulic and environmental sector institutions or agencies, coastal planners and managers and academics that have interest in learning the needs for integrated approach to problems in the coastal zone.
The Coastal Zone Management PAS Report examines the nature and extent of state technical assistance available to community planners and compares coastal management legislation across the U.S.
The report also identifies best practices in the use of geospatial technology for managing coastal hazards, climate change threats, environmental quality, and other issues relevant to coastal zone management.

This important book comprises the proceedings of The International Symposium on Integrated Coastal Zone Management, which took place in Arendal, Norway between June The main objective of the Symposium was to present current knowledge and to address issues on advice and management related to the coastal by: Integrated management for the development of coastal areas and maritime zones under national jurisdiction, providing an appropriate balance between environmental and developmental requirements and, to this end, development of integrated management techniques, including environmental impact.
The conventional, sectoral management approach, which addresses these challenges separately on a sector-by-sector basis, is typically not sufficient for solving complex problems in coastal areas. Integration and coordination of various coastal and marine management efforts is the major objective of the integrated coastal management (ICM) approach.
